During the quest Free Lae'zel, you can avoid conflict completely and not lose reputation with other party members and still have Lae'zel join the party.
Select the option to Leave when prompted. Then select the option to ignore the tadpole's urging and leave. Once the conversation is finished, run quickly up to Lae'zel and talk to her. The conversation will begin as if you freed her from the tieflings. Additionally, the tieflings don't react to the party in any way.
If you speak with the tieflings afterwards, the cutscene begins again, however Lae'zel is standing, un-caged, yet the conversation continues as if she was still imprisoned. The only options available this time around is "Meet the prisoner's glare" and "Leave." If you click the first option, the only conversation option after her reply is "Leave."
