I noticed if I click and hold a party members potrait I can drag it over to the right and I see a chain. When I move it far enough the chain pops and that party member no longer follows me. All the party members can be separated in this fashion. I am not sure if there is a hotkey command to do this. It would be helpful to have a button on the screen to ungroup/group the party.
