So my first tadpole power as a rogue is the ability to blind myself? What kind of goofy power is that? Doesn't even seem to hide me that well from enemies either. Double downside power. The inkblot also flickers like crazy.. not sure if it's supposed to do that but beware of strobing if that bothers anyone.

Is there a tadpole skill tree somewhere?

I didn't get any strobing with the inkblot. Also I think it only blinds you while you're inside it, if you move out you aren't blind anymore.

its a get out of jail free card. Its meant to drop and run away.

I have also used it to drop a cloud, have my party step out, shoot, go back in because attacks will have disadvantage on us. I just cycle them out 1 by 1 and come back in. Everyone has a bow and/or cantrip and its nice.

What is the problem you are solving? Does your proposed change solve the problem? Is your change feasible? What else will be affected by your change? Will your change impact revenue? Does your change align with the goals and strategies of the organizations (Larian, WotC)?

I love doing this, but it's a little comical when I walk back into the cloud after taking my shot, hit end turn, and it disappears. i really do need to pay attention to the duration of these things.

That smoke/blind tadpole ability is fantastic. Being able to sneak mid-combat is great. Also, you can quickly save someone who's about to die by using the cloud, and then using your tadpole ability (I forget what it's called) to teleport to the cloud if you're out of position. It'll cause enemies to funnel toward you or back off and buy you valuable time. And it's easy to abuse the cloud by stepping out, using a ranged action, and then stepping back into it to negate the blind penalty.

I don't want to fall to bits 'cos of excess existential thought.

You guys seem to have better luck with it than I am. Enemies still target me when I'm in the ink. Maybe it adds to the hide check but doesn't fully negate it and I'm just getting lousy rolls or something. I first tried using it in the owlbear fight after my party was all downed by it and it just jumped on over to me and clobbered me.

Be careful around enemies that dont rely only on sight for their senses. Many animals get advantage on perception checks using their noses.

Owlbear:

Keen Sight and Smell. The owlbear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight or smell.

Thanks .. that must be the reason why. I'm obviously just not using it right as others on here and reddit seem to have fun with it. I'll experiment with it more.
