Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Looks like a fun game, wish I could start

I did not have any problem starting Skyrim, any Fallout game, Diablo, etc. But I can't even get off the starting ship in this game. Someone did tell me to use the left "alt" key to display anything I can interact with and find the elevator. I have done both and now I have a walking brain following me. The elevator took me to the deck where I got my companion. How do I get to the control room? Assume I am an idiot and give me step by step directions, please. I did destroy a collection of brain and body parts on that upper deck.

There should be a gap which you can't walk across. Find the Jump command on your action panel and jump across. After that you should get another companion. From there, kill the enemies in the way and look for glowing markings on the floor, those indicate the way to go.

I have stood at the gap. When I try the jump command I am given two responses. Too far or too small.
