Our character automatically gets the tag "Baldurian", which states that we were raised in baldurs gate.
Now, if you choose the outlander background, it states that you were raised in one of the distant and hostile regions of Faerun.
So, assuming Baldurs gate is not one of such places, these descriptions don't match. I am not sure how to fix this; Maybe edit the Baldurian triat to say that you've lived there a long time, instead of being raised there? Idk
It's an automatic, I also went with Outlander and that doesn't seem to come up for anything, which I find annoying. I don't want to be from Baldur's Gate.
But if you chose a Hunter you can chose you are head hutner from city or city tracker. That also give "Baldurian trait". Thats why I was thinking 5e is broken because ltos of choices give this same traits and you can make character outlander and citisen in this same time.
It's likely an oversight. On the other hand, suggestions for Outlander origins include Trapper, Forester, Bounty Hunter, Homesteader, Pilgrim, and Exile or Outcast, many of which could still mean you started in Baldur's Gate.
Yes, I do hope they fix this going forward. I think it was meant to be a choice for specific character options, but they've got it switched to "Always On".
