After a while i feel i can contribute a few more ideas since my barren spell

1.This idea is both a graphical one and a skill.
I fel that when you kill an enemy(a human) its corpse should be still whole if i can put it that way.
After a period of time that corpse may deterioate to a half flesh/half skeleton and ater another peroid of time...the corpse would be just a skeleton.

Now with this skill called soul trapping when you kill the human being and cast the spell the human becomes a zombie and at first is friendly but when you leave and the come back again it becomes hostile and attacks.

The second level of the skill allows you to wiat until the corpse becomes half flesh and half skeleton and then cast the spell which then becomes a dark zombie.

Third level....If you wait for the corpse to become a skeleton then it becomes a skeleton lord.

Fourth level...You gain two creatures instead of one and the fifth level allows you to actually trap not the original soul but that of a powerful demon which which be around level 45.

2. Second idea is what i call satisfaction.
You choose a weakness for your hero whereby doing ths particular action causes the hero to remain content.
E.g the choices could be...
Food,gems,drink or gambling.

I.e say every few days or so you hero has to either eat buy gems, gamble, stuff himself, get drunk.. etc depending on what you choose and if you dont then your hero will be sloppy, slow and have his attack rating decrease by some.

3.Now when you kill a monster(not human) this has the effect of attracting other monsters(not leaders) to the corpse say 1 day ater you ,kill it the chance is around 10%.The monster would depend on the level.

I have just realised that each race speaks its own tongue...

So i think that in order to speak to any language... you will need a special scrool called the communication scrool and these are readily avialbe in shops and when you kill monsters.

How this works is that when you have a scroll...you can communicate when you click on a creature and a small bobox will pop up asking you if you want to use the srcoll.Click on yes and a conversation will began.
I think it will be helpful to have a default setting option whereby so long as you have a scroll and click on a creature conversation will start.

Now you can only use one scroll once after which it dissappears and the srcoll can be used to communicate with any race but once you finish the conversation you need another scroll to start talking again.

Alternatly if you find little scroll on monsters or dont like spending money in shops you can learn the skill.."communication skill"

1st level you understand dwarf
2nd..................... elf
3rd..................... imp/orc
4th......................lizard/giant
5th..................... any other monster.

The opportunity and diversity of the game will be highlighted here becuase scrool cannot be used to communicate between monsters... only frineldy creatues and so if you get all five levels a few more options will be avialaible notably working for the "bad " guys and performing such quests for them and i think this feature is cool.

Sounds iteresting... But I think that if they includes the opportunity to choose other races from the start, then this skill must be modified. And I allso think you should entirely learn a alnguage depending on one single skill. And by talking to other races (useing scrolls) you should learn how to talk their language.

Yeah i understand i had an idea whereby the Divine one could morph into any choosen race(somewhere in this thread) and yes i think that after a period of time that the person will learn the language.

Got another idea.

I was thinking to slightly expand on the reputation thing.

I think that certain objects are valued better by certain races.

E.g Dwarves are said to like dwarven(and usually any) weapons/armour and gems.
Therefore if you regularly trade this items to them then their attitude towards you would increase faster than if you would sell say potions/money.
This is true even if the dwarven seller sells potions himself.

It would be interesting to see if you sell certain items(e.g like bows and arrows) which would cause the drawf to dislike you since those objects are being really "elf" items and hence since dwarves dont like elves they would thnk that your a friend of a "Tree hugger" and thus your rep would decrease in their eyes.

I think this iade would be kind of fun..imagine you sell a dwarf a bow and you get the voice over " dammed treehugger stuff..."

Lol

Got another one(taking this from the fantasitc line on Little Britain comedy)

I Think that when you atack a monster with a sword/axe etc it should make some noise esp and this alerts any enemies nearby..i.e hearing and sght which already is implemented in the game.

Now i think that for thieves stealth is necessery and so i say that certain weapons like daggers, short swords should have an attribute(which can only be used by theives) which would make them "silent" whlist attacking another monster..this would not alert any nearby monster in the hearing department.

Potion of shadows work in the sight depertment and i thnk a couple of these would be ideal for making(at least for thieves/assassin) players explore the stealth option.

A perk is some kind of bonus, which could help with your stats, skills, abilities, resistances, etc. For example, here is a list of perks for Lionheart.

I took it from Fallout though. In that marvelous game, every third level you got a perk (unless you picked skilled in the beginning, but only idiots do that...). On the first level you only got not too good perks like: (what percs did you get again? What are they called?) Awareness. You get more detailed info when you examine enemies (might be quite good, but not nesccesary) and swift learner (+5 % when earning experiencepoints. It's even moore useless than wisdom in DD). You get these on level 3. On level 6 you get little better perks (you can still pick lelev 3 perks though) like: More chritticals (the name speaks for itself) and educated (+2 skillpoints when earning a level). On evel 9 you get yet better perks (you can still pick from the lvl 3 and lvl 6 perks)like: Bonus rate of fire (you fire quicker with guns. Since I'm a gunman I allways pick this one. The rest is pretty unimportant on this level...) and better chrits (allso speak for itself. With sniperperk this can be pretty usefull). On lvl 12 you get Action Boy (get one (what are they called?)Actionpoint every round ie you moove faster in combat), on lvl 18 (there is only one lvl 15 perc, so you pick one lower lvl there) you get sniper (you never get to lvl 18 though...) (use your luck roll in order to decide if you get a chrittical hit. If you have 9 in luck, you have 90 % chance to get a chrittical ).

PS if you haven't played Fallout+ Fallout 2, do it! They are two of the best games I've ever played! DS

Sounds good.

when stealing items and selling them back to their owner he could recognice them or something,

I liked when Morrowind did that.

having your own house/castle build as a questreward, plus the option to buy furniture fo it, and weapon/armour racks to display your items...

Ooooh. I'd like to be able to buy a house. About buying furniture, interesting -- Sounds very The Sims-ish.

6) Something like a weaponsmith/armourer/conjourer skill, or even a full working jobsystemconfused would be great

How about creating your own spells?

Quote
10) Npcs like in Baldurs Gate II, or a romance, the option to marry?

Romancing sounds good.

That's pretty Morrowind (createing your own spells, that is). I'd like a weaponsmith/armourer skill though, like Arcanum but better !

Thanks Raze for the info.

What about after having joined a guild....you get to do a quest for them for extra exp...in fact if you complete say 5 quests for them you get one of the best members or even the leader.

And make them sell specialwepons and stuff like that! And make them a little more dominant. If you can only join one guild, you get a little more lojal to that on, and if it shows you're a member of the warriors/mage/thievers guild, and you get advantages (hey, that mercant gave me a lower price because I'm in the Mage guild ) and disadvantages (on the other hand, that guy don't barter with sissies... I meen mages...) the choice of guild get's a little more important. Maybe you could get lot's of quests out from the guilds, ant that way get into the main story (the duke needs our best warrior/thief(... )/mage and since you've proven yourself we shoosed YOU). This sounds a little Lionheart, I know. Maybe you could allso choose NOT to be in a guild... Maybe drop the idea compleatly... That means something...

The guilds sound cool -- I like all the separate guilds: thieves, mages, etc etc.

Though, it'd be cool if there was one guild that is open completely. Maybe called The Ultimate Guild or something. Though, it probably should be the most expensive to learn from a teacher, since it is full of teachers of every school -- probably would be the biggest guild, too.

I go for being able to buy your own house/castle. Maybe a choice between a house or a castle. That would be cool. Also I think you need a merchant that sells furniture so you could decorate it just the way you want it. Items you might want: cabinets, bookcases, chests, things to store your stuff in, weapon and armor racks for these items, beds, tables, chairs (sitable), candles, lamps, plates, mugs, plants, pictures, anything that you might want in you personal house.

Things like that would make the game more personal and really add to the role playing aspect.

Guilds sound good too. To join a guild maybe you could do certains quests to prove you are worthy to be in the guild as sort of an initition. Guilds should also sell items to the members at a discount rate. This should also include some very good items that can not be purchased anywhere else or by anyone outside the guild.

Ub's idea is a good one...when you join one guild say another guild looks down on you but the remaining guilds remain neutral.

E.g if you join the fighters guild...you get discount at them but the mages guild look down on you..the other guilds remain unchanged.

The Thieves guild can oppose the Assassins guild in the same way....

The rangers guild oppose the necromancy guild???!!

I guess so lets say that necromancy is an evil magical pratice and dsturbs the balance of nature...what with all those resserections and so the rangers get annoyed at the necrs for polluting the forest.

@ Tragic: in that case, maybe there should be some kind of war between the guilds. Same with Assassin and thievers. And warriors and mages shouldn't be too happy with destruction of the forests either... But, maybe they keep neutral which the incredibly good mainchar (you, that is) feels is really wrong, and so he get's them to join it. Or maybe you a good necro who joins the Necroguild...
