Three problems identified with his quest so far:

1) Quest reward:

I've resuced Halsin, and I'm back in the Grove.

I'm told that Rath will reward me. I speak to Rath and he tells me to go to the inner waterfall. I have no idea where this is? It's not marked on my map.

Also, I'm told to speak to Zevlor, and he's marked on my map. I run to the destination of Zevlor (at the water fall) and he's nowhere to be seen.

UPDATE: I found Zevlor, but it's odd because his location keeps moving.
UPDATE: Halsin quest reward text/speech appears to be bugged. I've met with him the next day and he doesn't give me new information. He just wishes me good luck etc when he is meant to give me advice/guidance on how to fix my illness.
UPDATE: I found Halsin. You are required to "camp" outside of the town/in the wilderness. The "cinematic" if you will kicks in that way. Going to your camp doesn't unlock it. Sleep outside. It did the trick.

2) Bug with Halsin's pet

Anyone else experience this problem?

During Halsin's rescue, at the Goblin temple, it crashes.
Being a druid, Halsin is able to summon a pet wolf. Wow an extra pair of hands. Great news. Although, it's not. It crashes the game. I found myself coming across the same bug time and time again. A the end of the fighting round for his wolf, the game stops dead. It doesnt allow you to move forward to the next companion etc. I found a way around it though, I didn't summon the wolf in the first place and made my way about the quest minus Halsin's lovely wolf.

3) Unlimited fighting rounds for Halsin in the Goblin temple

I triggered a bug at towards the end of one the big fights in the Goblin temple. Somehow, I was able to use Haslin limitlessly to do my bidding. He could move/fight forever without it clicking to the enemy.
