Just finished a Githyanki playthough which went a lot differently than my other playthroughs, here's my observations & feedback:

  • ShadowHeart most likely won't join the party which makes the first fight with devourers quite hard, not sure if there is a way to by pass this fight or dynamically make it easier depending on the size of your party?
  • With ShadowHeart leaving, there is no quest for us to go to the ruins so I completely forgot about it and missed out on some XP, it would be good for someone else to give us this quest if ShadowHeart doesn't join the party.
  • Following Lae'zels plan to find the creche, Zorru gives up the location a little too easily which gives us no incentive to visit the goblin camp at all which also causes us to miss out on a huge amount of XP. There needs to be another reason to visit the goblin camp aside from rescuing the druid or helping the Tieflings because I felt like the Githyanki have no interest in doing either. Perhaps after meeting the patrol they mention the goblin camp and you get the location of the creche from the slate at the camp instead of the patrol.
  • The overall quest line is a bit short at the moment, either a couple more quests need to be added before we reach the patrol or the patrol needs to lead us to complete other quests in the area before prompting us to go through the mountain pass.

Overall, I enjoyed playing as Githyanki. The extra dialogue options were really interesting and I felt I learned a bit more about Lae'zel than my other playthroughs.

Regarding the goblin camp, there definitely needs to be more of a reason to go there. I didn't play a Githyanki but I tried doing an evil playthrough focused on just going for the most likely solution to the tadpole, which is the Githyanki. So I have no in-character reason to go to the goblins.

World is full of quests and unrevealed secrets...

But u had worm in the head, so you must hurry to solve your main quest - win the race before worm transforms you into ktulhu-tyan

So there is a lot of XP that you won't get. btw in tutorial chapter in Avernus u can kill all demons - they all worth 50xp... and imps and all dying bodies for 1xp

And there after u can gather a group without interaction with dying Illitid. Feed yourself to him and fight him 36/58(???)hp. This is pretty tough, it worth me 2 rez scrolls and a lot of mindgaming but it is 26xp (not sure about numbers here)

I am very dissapointed that dialoging instead of fighting gives you less XP... even killing unconscious (after special attack, that "stuns") has NO XP reward

There are evil quest options in the goblin camp. Plus there's loads of hooks to get you to investigate the place (You're a True Soul of the Absolute, don't ya know).

Maybe it's just the way I played and progressed, but while there's evil quest options at the camp, none of them felt like something I was given a reason to do beyond just evil for the sake of evil. And in general I don't feel like given a good reason to go out of your way to investigate the camp when your primary concern is selfishly seeking out a way to get the tadpole out of your head so you don't turn into a mindflayer. In my playthrough I don't think I experienced anything that suggested the True Soul business was anything more than a weird Mindflayer trick. I didn't encounter anything that would convince me they could be trusted or they had any solutions for me. If I missed something I would love to hear what I missed because I really want to realistically roleplay those evil quests.
