Well thief get 2 bonus action for offhand attack or sth like dashing. And u can get free advantage from backstabbing enemies from behind. I don't think these are good decisions either but at least rogue get something from the action change..
But I do agree they should stick more to the rule, just change all of these to be more like 5e.
