Gain proficiency in Investigation and learn the Thieves' Cant passive. Creatures you Restrain have a harder time escaping.
However, when you select Bounty Hunter, you don't gain proficiency in Investigation.
If you go to the skills tab, and then deselect a proficiency, it'll then automatically tick investigation, then you can select another proficiency.
Then, if you go back to the Class tab, and select something else, say Mage Breaker, it'll still show Investigation as one of your proficient skills. But now it doesn't show Arcana anywhere, when Mage Breaker says that you should get proficiency in Arcana. It doesn't show it in your proficiencies on the left, under "Skills With Proficiency" on the right, or "Skills Without Proficiency" on the right. However again, if I deselect a proficiency, it will show Arcana on the left under "Proficiencies," but still doesn't show up anywhere on the right.
This behavior tracks for all the Favored Enemy options.
Video:
This appears to just be a bug on the character creation screen, as I tried making a Ranger by selecting bounty hunter, making sure Investigation was automatically ticked, then switching to Mage Breaker and finalizing my character, and it looks like I do not have Investigation proficiency, and I do have Arcana proficiency. So the actual character creation looks like it's working as intended, but the character creator itself has some issues.
Noticed the same issue with my Ranger Knight not having Heavy Armor prof as it should. Unfortunately didn't catch it early so, now I'm 10+ hours in and finally finding good Hev Armor and unable to use. oops. But man, am I ever observant lol
