I really enjoyed the combat with Gimblebock. I'm sure these points have been mentioned elsewhere. Nevertheless:
  • I liked that the NPCs have interesting names. It adds to the immersion and helps me to feel how much care went into making this game.
  • I like that enemies climb higher to gain advantage. In addition to making the combat more challenging (which I like), this also teaches the player what is possible. This is a great way to learn: by observing others.
  • The enemy dwarven archer climbed on to a crate to be even taller. Wow!
  • I entered the fight head on and got creamed. I then entered from the side and was able to attack the enemy wizard before she climbed higher.
  • The wizard then ran and hid behind a pillar so I couldn't attack her from the same position. Wonderful!
  • I love jumping over hazards, e.g. surfaces. Also, when first learning about bonus actions, jumping is an easy one to understand.
  • I love that, when pushing an enemy, I see a line indicating the push trajectory. This I moved my character to change the trajectory of the push.

Is this all strict RPG playing? I don't know. But it's very realistic, it makes me think in new ways, and it immerses me in the experience. And that is what I love about RPGs.

Thank you, Larian!
