I just found this, not sure whether this is accurate as I am/was stuck.

https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGat...s_the_second_path_to_the_moonrise_tower/

During my playthrough I went to all the possible leads to a cure, and also found Halsin. However, I killed him and got the information as to Moonrise Towers from his body (speak to dead spell). This triggered the quest to travel to Moonrise Towers.

That was my final lead. Supposedly there is a road through the Underdark to Moonrise Towers, however, I have no lead to go there. There's a signpost in the Northwest area where the Gith are that say Moonrise Towers to the West.

However, you cannot access that mountain pass, despite this being the only lead you (like me) may have. So you go there, and nothing, at least at this point of EA. Without googling, I would be stumped.

I wonder if this was a glitch? I had quest markers on all three paths but the two topside paths were inaccessible due to EA restrictions. The one in the Underdark was usable though after some questing with shrooms and dark dwarves.

Actually, just checked, I don't have quest markers on *any* possible exit... the Travel to Moonlight Towers quest as such is triggered though, as said by killing Halsin and then aquiring the information from his body by casting the speak to dead spell. However, I have no quest lead to the Underdark whatsoever... that's all I got from his body. "Go to Moonrise Towers".

This is really, really weird.

Did anybode else kill Halsin, like me? Supposedly you are only "lead" to the Underdark (rather than discovering it somehow) if you take him back to the grove?

This seems like a major oversight on Larian's behalf, but I'm still not sure. If it is, I'd rather end my playthrough here and start a new one, because that is how I would have progressed, leaving through the mountain path in the NOrthwest. (I was planning another playthrough anyways).
