The mountain pass exit to the Northwest near the Giths where it says on the signpost it'd lead to the Moonrise Towers isn't functionable as of yet.

Yet, if you kill Halsin, cast "Speak to dead" on him, all the information you get is to go to the Moonrise Towers. No mention of the supposedly optional Underdark or anything.

The natural progression from this point is to go the Mountain Pass and try to travel to the Towers from there. Yet, the game blocks you from doing so due to Early Access. So you're stuck in a loop wondering whether this was supposed to be that way (EA) or whether this was a bug.

All the breadcrumbs are laid out, yet there is no ending proper.

This is due to the Moonrise towers not being in the Early Access content, so something for us to look forward to. If you have been unable to find the Underdark area, may I suggest simply more general exploration, or do another playthrough with different choices. I haven't had Halsin die myself, but I know if he lives one of the suggestions he gives is the Underdark route.

In case you want a hint on finding the entrance to the Underdark;
Start searching in Priestess Guts' chambers inside the goblin camp.

Thanks. hehe I had spoilered that for myself when looking for a solution to my "problem".

Yeah it's apparently when Halsin lives that he gives directions to the Underdark... given that it's pretty easy to have him attack you though (I found, personally), this still looks like an oversight on Larian's behalf. You shouldn't be able to travel to the Towers maybe, but at least have some conclusion of kinds. As it is, going this route seems "incomplete".

There are currently 3 possible entrances to the underdark. So don't worry, plenty of ways to get there.

Thing is, if you go the route I go, you don't have any reason given to go to the Underdark at all. They said that the area was optional anyways in the full release, however, in the meantime if you do what I did and have the quest objective next to travel to the Towers, you're left hanging as the roads there are blocked for the EA.

I'm assuming there is a conclusion proper if you actually go to the Underdark and take the route to the towers there, mind.
