1. Given a choice of all the races in D&D most will still choose human. The +1 boost to all stats is hard to pass up and people coming from 3.5 are used to getting extra feats so that's probably a hold over.





As an aside.... D&D 5E has the "variant human" which only gets +1 boost to any two stats, but also gets a feat. It is actually the most popular choice in 5E, and I've never actually played at a table with someone who has chosen the vanilla human. I hope that Larian will include the variant human at a later date, but if not it's no big loss for me as I tend to play other races.


Yeah, Variant feels much more in line with the other races to me.
