Dual-wielding : the weapons must have the tag Light as per 5e rules. This is typically daggers, hatchets, shortswords, etc.
- Once in your hands, you can freely choose to make a single attack (Action) or use both (+Bonus Action).

Good news is the game uses the best of your Str or Dex if it is a Finesse weapon (most Light are Finesse).

As for using a versatile weapon in one hand, for duelist, it is just an oversight I presume and will probably be added later during the year.

As a note I've had to explain to someone else who didn't notice, but for Duelist the one-handed thing you can have a shield in your offhand and still get the bonus, that forces you into a one-handed wield on a versatile weapon

It's something that had to get specifically figured out in pen and paper because the ability is ambiguously worded in the PHB too, so they had to get the answer on it from the rules sages

In TT 5e, Duelist applies with a shield. The rule as written is "wielding a weapon in one hand and no other weapons" a shield is not considered a weapon. This makes it an outstanding choice for sword and board fighters though a lot of people assume it doesn't work with a shield. Wording in BG3 implied it only works with an empty hand, so good that it is working as it is supposed to even if the text is wrong.

They should add a "2 hand versatile" weapon toggle into the reaction tab though.

You have dmg bonus to off-hand even if don't have Fighting style for Duals (unfinished/bug)

And if you need to fight with both non-Light 1h-weapon (Longswords/Maces and etc.) - Two Weapon Figthing Feat solve this + some bonuses

And still... since there is "no duel-wield" property on that Magic Spear (and on no other two-handed weapons) in the ruins I think, that "Monkey Grip" can be added into the game (You can dual-wield two-handed weapons) - That's... strange

They had useless toggle for 1h-2h-wield

And Duelist is way more cooler than using Vers-weapon in two hands (1d8+2 > 1d10)
...but there is no Polearm Master Feat here I think and Spears/Staff are 2h only - this sucks in the terms of Duelist+PolearmMaster
