Can we talk about this? This swole elf dude?
I know this is just early access but yall?
We most definitely need the option to pick different bodies, just how we have the option to pick different heads, for example: like on neverwinter online you had 3 body options to pick from. Just looking at him makes me want to create a swole elf. I would wholeheartedly like larian studios to please add that option for the full release.
What are yall thoughts?

Most of the current male characters you can play are hideous.

Definitely; looking at a Gith male head on a ranger or other armored body looks really strange; the armor is clearly oversized...kind of creepy actually.

Maybe if you put a fourth exclamation mark to the title then you will get what you want.

More body types is a huge (imo wasted) time cost for the developers, since they have to make copies of all armours and clothing and adjust them to fit these body types.

There are many many more important things to add to the game than freakin body types.

+1 more body types would be nice or body sliders. I'm also a fan of height sliders but I know those are less likely.

I dunno the tech in the engine being used, so I dunno if Alrik is on the money or not. But in some cases, yeah, it would require art asset adjustments. However, as most shaders, they can open those properties to sliders, so if you make adjustments on the character, gear would fit appropriately. And it is pretty commonplace in the RPG space to have those sliders.

Well its a good thing that this is a AAA game with a AAA budget then!

I wouldn't expect anything less than what other such games offer, full character customisation isn't anything new or hard.

They also dont have to make new copies of anything, modern GPUs have been able to automatically handle such rescalling for a very long time now.

Also, the game already has instances of armor being scaled to fit different body types. Halflings and dwarves have different bodies and if Halsin *does* turn out to be a party member, they'd have to adjust all medium/light armor to fit him. So I'm assuming there's already some underlying scaling system for the armors. At minimum, it would be nice to have the current and buff body options for males and the current body type for females plus an equally muscular/curvy option.

About half the armors look really terrible and oversized on my Gith boy; they haven't worked the bugs out of the designs they have already.

Oh my. That would mean an entirely new set of models and animations.

That's... not how this works. They have to make sure all armor fit the appropriate body without clipping issues.

Yes but its not a case of redrawing each piece manually for every variation.
