Currently, there is very little indication of when you will lose gold when finalize a barter. I "sold" a bunch of items using Barter, not realizing that I was actually just giving them away. In my opinion there should be a confirmation button warning you that you are bartering at a loss when you are bartering to prevent inattentive players from just giving items away.
