I've never had it crash, but I've got a relatively high end pc, with everything up to date.
I think an I9 10900K and 1080 Ti are also relatively high end.
It happens more if you save scum a lot, memory dump problems causing the game to lock up at 1 FPS and / or crash to desktop.
