There is also Waterdeep's harbour moon, and Silverymoon's eclipse moon coins. Both worth 50gp a piece. Those are best for both weight and volume efficiency. And generally accepted anywhere in Faerun.
Additionally for adventures it's often worth hold and not monetize gems. As those can easily worth over hundred gp in equal value of weight and volume.
And finally there are bank bonds. Which is pretty much any sum of money equalized to single piece of paper. I know for fact that most Baldur's Gate banks use those.
