When difficulty levels will be introduced in the full game, it would be very nice if you guys gave us the option of rolling our ability scores if we select the toughest difficulty, because

i) Players playing on toughest difficulties could be rewarded for their bravery by being able to roll a very powerful character
ii) The game puts a premium on dialogue (i.e. Charisma) which is probably the most common dump stat (iirc, only the Sorcerer, the Bard, the Warlock, the Paladin and the Bard don't have it as a natural dump stat).
iii) The point-buy system can completely kill multiclassed characters, who will typically need very good values in 3+ ability scores.

This is not a priority for Early Access, but I hope it gets implemented for the full game.

What would stop player just keep rolling until they get super high stats?
In P&P it's limited by DM, who will force you to play with what you rolled (if you dared for rolls instead of point-buy)
IN CRPG nothing would stop you abusing roll system.

Well, yeah. That's the idea. You roll until you get the numbers you want. There's a reason I only proposed to implement this option for the highest difficulty... in order to play the highest difficulty and still have fun with it, I'd like to have at least 4 18s in my Ability Scores without going lower than 10 in the other two.

I would not call it "abusing the system" if there is a difficulty that almost requires it.
Another point I forgot to raise in my opening post: a character that uses Charisma and/or Wisdom as a dump stat will be locked out of many dialogue option (i.e. such a character will have almost no chance to pass the various skill checks). This will lock such a character out of many possibilities, and while it is true that this adds (rather artificially, I might add) to the game's replayability, the full game will probably last 70+ hours (but probably many more) and people won't like it to wait that long to see what was hiding behind those dialogue options.

So, in short you would just need higher points for point buy.
Although that would negate difficulty.
Whole purpose of higher difficulty is having higher challenge with same resources.
If you up the resources - you would just even it out.

I totally agree. I'd really like to be able to roll abilities. And being able to roll again if I want to. Or doing the exact same things as in BG1/2..

I hate the actual system and I hate being unable to put 18 strengh and 6 charisma to my warrior.
It looks so wierd atm.

Larian already said they are looking to implement an option for rolling stats, but its probably not a priority on their list right now.

Just let people write in their own stats to save the hassle of having to reroll.

Its satisfiying to roll good stats, i can just download a hack and edit my stats from any time but then i would consider it as a cheating, however rolling stats like in previous games was very satisfying.
To be honest the first thing i thoiught when i was creating my character, WTF why cant i dump stats and make 18 str.... ???? i think everyone who played bg1/2 thought the same!
