Oki, so, started another play-through, got to see some minor things before it crashed. On the good side, a lot of the cinematics are loading faster and have less issues, specially the first few on the nautiloid. The things I encountered where:

Lip synch is still not working in some parts, mainly
  • Lae'zel's when you meet her at the nautiloid
  • The Tieflings who have Lae'zel in a cage, and Lae'zel's lips again
  • The Dead dude in the ruins whose name I thoroughly forgot, his lips wont move during opening dialogue


When you finish dialogue with Shadowheart after you first meet her, her avatar will duplicate behind herself in a T pose. Didn't manage to get a print, it disappears shortly after.

Most weird of all, during the fight at the gates of the Druid's grove, when the goblins killed one of the three adventurers (the female) she exploded, forming a tent over everything and making things very difficult to see.

After the battle ended I changed tabs to upload the print from the glitch, the game stopped working and crashed.

Alt-Tabbing out of the game eventually leads my game to crash and leaves the desktop with just a black screen overlay, if I win+d I get to my normal background again.

My monitor is just the humble TV, when I check the display settings in windows after such a crash then it tells me I have twelve monitors laugh

Restarting the pc is the only way to fix the issue once it occurs, to workaround it normally you need to use windowed mode instead.

I hope I can be understood, English is not my mother tongue and I really don't know how to explain this cutscene bug !

So, in multiplayer, during the dialogues, the cutscene itself sometimes skips dialogues or parts of the scene. This happens more often when it comes to mind control scenes, but not all the time. It also depends on the savegame, on a new savegame sometimes everything will be fine on some dialogues and not on others, and on another savegame it will change ... it's quite random.

2. Shadowheart shows the same dialogue option twice in one dialogue round: Shadowheart Dialogue options 4 and 5 same

3. When you met BG3's "The Witcher"/Gur and Astarion is in your group and you later talk to him about it, the ensuing dialogue is like he wasn't there (saw this s/o else posting, had the same experience, this is to confirm; forgot to screenshot)

4. Similar bug with Gale: I had his "epic" coming out talk (where he shows you the contents of his heart) with him before he asked me to trust him and supply him with artifacts. In said second convo he acts all secretive although he already told me everything. (again, I forgot to screenshot)

5. The phase-spider-matriarch-fight starts while one of the normal phase-spiders is one level below me and can't see me (that one initiated combat). Apparently, it can look through walls. Screenshot:Phase Spider Matriarch with X-Ray

Can't reach weapon on some weapon racks, says 'out of reach' when you're clearly in range and standing next to it.

When talking with 'Karlach' (1st encounter) a lot of her animations bugs out. (Crossbow dissapearing, her head spinning around, animations stopping midway).

If you start lockpicking after a previous failed attempt then the "failed" message will hide and delay the next attempt's of a lockpicking progression.

Getting stuck in indefinite combat when Rozzak (goblin inside goblin camp) won't end his turn after banging on some war drums.

The 'Powerful Tome' quest-marker seems to get stuck on your minimap location you zoned/logged in on.

One perticular ladder in 'The Risen Road' doesn't work (character climbs up and then immediately down).

You can give Gale the 'Iron Flask' artefact from 'The Missing Shipment' quest even though you haven't opened the chest, and you can give him it infinite amount of times (it doesn't deplete his conversation option though).

When activating the two pressure-plate chairs in 'The Risen Road' tollhouse(basement) it keeps continuosly going down and up, as if getting activated and then deactivated right away.

The "Moon" puzzle inside the 'Defiled Temple' seems to be a big bugged as some of the moon slots dissapears and doesn't change.

1. On the ship (Tutorial) after connecting the ship nerve tentacles: If my character does it then it skips the cut scene of me falling out of the ship and the people observing below. This causes me to start the game and there is nothing to interact with on the ground. No mobs, no containers, no Shadowheart. There is one and only 1 fisherman to loot, after than it's just pools of blood with no bodies.
If LAE'ZEL connects the tentacles, then all is well.

2. Nette: Way to many skill rolls for the success. I passed 3 of them at DC10, luck. Passing 4 of them is pretty much the same as one DC20 roll.

3. Goblin prisoner which tiefling threatens to shoot them. I stand in way to say no, then fail DC. I expected to get shot and her to say oh crap, sorry. Instead I get combat to fight to death. I never wanted anyone killed and even if I knock them out they are still hostile. I mean if she really wants to kill the goblin that bad have her shoot it and ask me if I want to do something about it after the fact.

4. Druid fight: I am talking to druid leader after a child dies. Next thing I know she runs off and we are in a fight. What happened? End of fight and grove went on revolt? What happened? My friend says he was accused of hostility and has conversation. Apparently failed and druids all attacked. What hostility?

5. Save game. Several times in the game the option to save is not even present. I am not in a conversation. I get that maybe cannot save except 15 minutes or 30 minutes since last one, but I had been playing for about 1 hour and NEVER saved. I was not allowed to save, had no auto saves all night and I needed to sign off.

Defiled Temple the symbols are bugged out. Clicking to rotate makes symbols dissappear as shown in the image.
This did not happen 2 days ago when I played.

Map of the underdark is bugged. When you open it it appears vertically translated. I'm able to see just the lower half, no matter how much do I try to move it around.

- In the hag's hut, the standing cabinets seem to be two cabinets stacked on top of each other. For each, one is marked as 'stealing' to interact with, while the other isn't. They both have their own loot.

- When putting on the Hag's Mask and becoming controlled, you can remove the mask from your character by right-clicking the equipped mask and choosing "Send to Camp". This seems like an unintended way to remove it. I haven't tried equipping a different helmet to see if it would automatically remove the mask.

I don't go through half of these posts, but I assume the devs keep track. Here goes (everything from before yesterday's patch unless otherwise stated)

*General stuff*
- Going to camp/long rest sometimes bring you back to random places. I tend to end up in swamp, close to the fast travel. One time when I ported back the Redcaps entered battle for no reason (no triggering it through dialogue, not insulting Ethel.
- AoE effects such as acid, poison, fire sometimes last for two rounds sometimes for half an eternity. I've had a fire on a stone floor last for an awkwardly long time, so something is most likely not right.
- Companions show up in (background) cut-scenes despite being miles away.
- Several quests go from finished to not finished and back again. Other just refuse to update properly. No specifics except the Anders partial objective (kill Anders for Karalach).
- If two or more of your controllable characters take turns together and you finish the turn (press space) of the last one in the order you also finish the other characters' turn. If you have three characters and you finish the second ones turn it works as intended, same goes if you finish the first one's turn.
- On turning level 4 I can select a proficiency that I'm already proficient in. I'm pretty sure there is no tier to speak of so it makes little sense to be able to waste your level 4 bonus.
- There's a typo in the description of the "Idol of Selune".
- Lae'zel is bugging out at camp. Can't be interacted with. For me it happened after saving big time druid/had a party at camp. Restaring game, reloading, revisiting camp doesn't work. Reloading previous save does. I had a friend who experienced the same bug, but am not sure of circumstances other than it was also late game.

*Forest*
- When interacting with the dead Chosen (Owlbear "victim") and his two side-kicks, and have Lae'zel in your party, she's doing some grammatical errors or use some extra words (that shouldn't be in the subtitles) in the dialogue that follows.
- If you choose to bring Asterion to the Monster Hunter and decide to side with Asterion you can have some wonky dialogue afterwards. Asterion disapproved when I told the Monster hunter about him, and he even performed the killing blow on the Monster hunter when I decided to fight. Afterwards we talked it out and he was very surprised that I had met a Monster hunter. I don't know. Maybe Asterion suffers from severe amnesia or maybe he's drinking way too much of that fancy wine he doesn't like, but it was a bit immersion breaking. He also tells me about Cazador like we didn't discuss it at camp the day before.

*Swamp*
- Two wardrobes in Ethel's house seem to have a copy sharing their space. First two on the left hand side when entering, I think.
- After cut-scene in Hag's inner sanctum, she doesn't attack. She just stand there taking hits (pretty sure this has been reported before).

*Goblin Fortress*
- When speaking to torture victim (Spike's victim), after unlocking his cuffs, he casually stretches his hands up pretending to be back on the rack. My PC felt super awkward when he pulled that stunt. Please make him stop.

*Toll House*
- When activating hidden room the door keeps sliding up and down. You can still get through it as long as you activate it properly, but have to use jump to do so.

*Underdark - Myconid camp*
- After killing of the duergar at Underdark beach, with Glut in tow, I fast travelled to surface, fast travelled back straight to Myconid camp and everything was hostile. If loading a previous save they weren't. **big patch happened** I fast travelled to some other place in Underdark and finished tower, walked to Myconid camp, no issues.
- Also post-big patch. After killing duergar I spoke to big boss Glow(?), was escorted to the reward (which someone had unfortunately stolen prior to doing duergar-mission). Afterwards I spoke to Glut. If choosing to either 3) refuse taking part in his scheme or 4) to attack him, the entire camp turns hostile. If choosing to 2) kill Glow(?) everyone in the camp except for Glut will aggro. This doesn't make sense to me. No matter what, if you speak to Glut, you have to level the Myconid colony. What would make sense is if some of the animated stuff helped Glut - other Myconids can turn on Glut or remain neutral.

This is a pretty long post. I wonder if I'm overcompensating for something.

Regarding the Hotbar issue for the 5th Character. I finally figured out if you open up a Character Spell Window, Dock it solo, then click on the 5th character in the party box, you can then open that Spell window and add it back to the hotbar.

What I haven't figured out is how to give that character an item from another character though!

Bugs found in and around the Gnarled Teahouse
On PC

In the secret room behind the fireplace, the staircase and some of the walls and floors shift in and out of view, and I can't see half of my companions. When zoomed all the way in it stops glitching.

Auntie Ethel escaped down the stairs while in combat, it seemed the game tried to follow her, as the screen went black for a moment as if I had gone down it.
Afterwards all sound effects were muted and though I could move around I couldn't interact with anything. Her nameplate, health and "Moving..." stayed onscreen as if it was still her turn.

My summoned imp's idle animation also froze. After trying again, the aforementioned bug did not occur, but the imp animation freeze did

When in dialogue with Gandrel his animations don't flow. There is a cut in his animations between most of lines.

In this same instance I also noticed an issue where one of my companions hands gets in front of the camera. This happened with a halfling character

Invisible characters can be targeted and attacked but not damaged. Don't know what's intended, but I don't think it should show the silhouette of your character like when you hover your mouse over an attackable character

Upon picking up Magron's head no options appear when right clicking it in your inventory

When in dialogue with Lorin my character's leg is weirdly contorted. I think what you can see in the video is actually the underside of his boot

When putting on a Whispering Mask, you already have the mask on in the cutscene that plays, and after you see your character putting it on, there are two of them on your face.

Fighting the NPCs at the tollhouse and Trying goes outside, up the ladder, and into, not onto, the roof and attacks Gale.
*edit*:Not only that she shoots through closed doors.

I know it's been mentioned, but throwing it on that great weapon feat does not work according to description. When gaining a critical hit or kill hit you are unable to attack again at the cost of a bonus action.

A common issue in combat is being unable to end a character turn, which forces one to load a previous save as combat cannot be finished or avoided.

Another list from todays play.

Bugs

- A boullete knocked me down in the underdark above the duergar slaughter. Shortly after I continued walking and then a fight triggered with a boullete that seemed frozen in frame as it was jumping out of the ground. It was my turn but I couldn’t target anything or end combat so I cycled turns and then the bullet continued jumping and murdered one of my players, this was the true start of the fight. This has happened twice so far.

- Novice Sluck in the Goblin Camp walks from her post to the table to drink with the other two Goblins, then appears off her stool for a few seconds before reappearing at the beginning of her walk.

- When Volo is performing in the Goblin Camp I gave him my rapt attention which eventually led to the goblin woman telling him to get back to his cage. I was still able to go through the rest of the dialogue options with him though and each just replayed him trying to start up in the same way and being told back to his cage.

- I burned Booyaugh Culk to death in the firewine. After the fight he was standing up, fully charred, and moving, but I was still able to loot his corpse

- I broke down the door near Roah Moonglow with Eldritch Blast and lied my way out of a problem twice, when the door was destroyed it never actually
disappeared But I was able to walk through. Then I walked through the door and opted to fight it out when they were mad the 3rd time. However once the fight started the game froze up and I couldn’t do anything. Except move Gale after a little bit, but he couldn’t perform any actions. The second time I did this fight I placed a smokepowder barrel in front of her two guards and blew it up. Once it was her turn she froze up for close to a minute, drank a potion, froze again, then skipped to me.

- Frequently I receive a lower hit chance because enemies are covered in shadows, even when they are standing next to a light source, sometimes that light source is me. I am having a hard time being able to tell when something is in the shadows and when it is not. When in underground or dark areas, I see nothing wrong with actually having the screen bee pitch black, and have the areas a grey color for darkvision. This would help show what is considered dark and what is not, it would also add to the gameplay in my opinion.

- Party Members continued to bring up Ethel as a viable option to heal the tadpole, even after she was killed.

- I fast traveled to my camp and chatted with some people, then fast traveled to the goblin camp but my party members did not follow. I had to fast travel each one separately.

- After clearing out the goblin Camp Halsin just appeared in the Grove, though I never saw him.

- After clearing out the Goblin Camp the Owlbear Cub disappeared, I told him he was welcome in my camp and he was willing to go once they were gone.

- Netties in world dialogue continued to say “what if Halsin is…. No don’t go there.” Even after he came back to the grove.

- Zevlor said asked if I was ready to depart for the camp, I said yes and then nothing happened. Halsin said he would meet me at the camp, but he never did. I tried both fast travel and long rest. The second nights rest brought Zevlor and Halsin.

- Frequently when I throw enemies off of tall places with the modified eldritch blast, they take 0 fall damage. I know it is tall enough to cause fall damage because they have tossed me off the same areas and I have died.

- When fighting the Druegar Gale was launched off the side of a catwalk, thus dieing. However his body (being launched out of the play area) came to rest at his place in camp. His necrotic damage then killed Astorian. Whom I cannot resurrect. In the same fight I launched two of the Druegar out of the play area, instantly killing them, but am now unable to loot their bodies. Im all for the out of bounds insta death since I use it far more than the enemy, but the bodies should come to rest inside the play area, maybe after the fight they spawn there?

- At the party in the camp Alfira doesn’t actually have anything in her hand. Zevlor either though they both have a drink cinematic going.

- When shadowheart is selected as my character she emits light, similar to when light is casted on her, but she doesn't glow. No other characters do this, and she does not do this if she is not selected.

Wants

- When hovering over something in the text narrative, it should tell you what it is or show you what it pertains to. ie. Hovering over Mobile Foe should tell you how it alters a character, and a successful perception should show you where the thing you perceived was.

- I would like to be able to cast light on an object and then chuck it, so that enemies can't be hidden in shadows.

Spoilers are for Gale's "condition".

[spoiler]SO Gale already told me about his condition, and the cause of it (the entire story about Mystra), and I've given him an artefact to eat already. However, when I went from medium to high approval with him, back at camp he took me aside and basically repeated the whole story about his condition but that he wouldn't tell me what caused it (after he already did....), and asked for another artefact. No major gameplay problems, but it seems like the trigger for the initial conversation about his condition is bugged, because we definitely shouldn't have had it twice lol.[/spoiler]

I keep encountering game breaking bugs that don't "crash" the game (it would be nice if there was a hotkey to report these with metadata in-game)

1) Fighting at the goblin camp entrance, the initiative list flickered away, dice rolls for initiative started spilling down the screen in lines, and eventually everything gummed up.
2) The warlock guy became unclickable and would no longer return to camp with us. He was like a phantom member of the party that could never be used again.
3) a bunch I've forgotten...

As a programmer myself, It seems like a huge number of bugs scream out that they need a state machine or similar constraint system. It feels like they're letting designers use Lua directly without any kind of automated validation.
Kind of crazy....
