Don't be sorry - discussion is what forums are for! A lot of my ideas center around character creation and development because that's the aspect of DnD I enjoy the most, which is definitely not the focus for everyone.
These are great ideas (and your names are way better than mine). I would suggest "Diamonds are a cleric's best friend", but only because I think I'm clever.
And yeah that's the whole point - to make this stuff optional so people can play the game how they like, rather than just how it is.
Should probably go without saying, but obviously this stuff is lower priority than a lot of the basic balance and bugfixes that have been reported already. This falls into the "icing" category, I think.
