I don't see how the tabletop Ranger works in a CRPG. All of their abilities are about removing any disadvantages in set situations - and if you don't pick the campaign's situations you've got a useless character. I think that giving them the option of animal summons and swapping in some abilities from other classes is an acceptable compromise.


The Ranger's problem is not his pet, it's those other overly limited abilities.
