There were raids from elsewhere because we have Goblins and Drow with tadpole. I think we have multiple ships gathering experiential subjects, just how big is the Mindflayer plot? Well, we know we are from Baldur's Gate, but do we know that we were in Baldur's Gate when we were taken? The mind flayers may not have been there.
