In all good stories, the character must want something beyond simple survival. Currently when the game begins the only thing you want is to not die. Even when you get off the ship, you have no real goal besides not dying. No asperations, no desires, no history. You're just a wandering meatsack that collects companions (who all have asperations, desires, and history).
