When you agree to beat up the goblin so Wyll can ask him questions afterwards, and the goblin surrenders at low HP to answer his questions, Wyll tells you to 'Kill it.'
So I did, and then the first thing Wyll says with an exclamation point above his head is "Damn it I told you not to kill him."
