I'm not sure, but try looking for vents, or some such on the floor, and covering them with some kind of container. I may not even be close, and it may be that they're meant to be there, but maybe? It's a mechanic that is in game, as I used it in the first temple to stop the floor from getting all greasy and blowing me up.
