Strat-Edgy did a video that I think considers the right factors. Combat is about pulling off plans and, in this game, it’s a tool to demonstrate your role. You know... a role playing game. It’s vastly more difficult to accomplish that than to balance a combat system. Which is clearly down the road.

Even if it weren’t in EA, this isn’t Civ 6, it’s not the kind of game that’s meant to be perfectly balanced. The whole approach he takes makes no sense applied to this game.

I'm sorry what? What do you think 99% of game testing is? You have to push the game and mechanics to it's limit for bug testing, let alone balancing.

Let me give you a little example. Say you want to include a long stairway, and you add fencing on either side to prevent people from falling off or whatever. You then need to run the character model against every pixel at multiple speeds, including lower than normal and higher than normal to a degree that you believe cannot be attained in game. You then need to repeat this while under the affect of debuffs. Then you need to test being in combat against every pixel of this staircase and so on and such just to ensure that there is no way to break out of it. Don't throw out blasé accusations because you disagree with someone.

I am here to discuss a video game. Please do not try to rope me into anything other than that. Thank you.
