Just a quick survey.

I was thinking that characters who are still hidden in stealth should still enter in combat and be queued like everyone else IF they are close enough to the fight, rather than having the massive advantage to be able to intervene at will and move without limits in real time.

What's your general opinion about this?
YES/NO?

Note that this is intended more like a genuine question rather than a "WHO'S WITH ME?!" looking for consensus, because I'm honestly trying to think if I'm forgetting some significant downside this mechanic could have.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

Yes I agree. Now it is too much like DOS2. You can cheese any fight by leaving 3 chars out of combat in stealth and after initiating the combat by one your chars, other three just murder the main target or get too much tactical advantage that destroy the combat's immersion.
Stealth chars should enter the turn order but not combat as long as they stay undetected and only certain classes or chars with certain feats should gain advantage on rolls when they attack from stealth. This way I think leaving some chars behind may become tactical rather than a way of cheesing the fight.

Plus, there should definitely some rooms for getting caught in ambush by enemy and certain classes like ranger or rogue must be able to detect a potential ambush by saving throws. This way tracking and surviving may become more meaningful.

I agreed, and we should not be able to stealth in plain sight. There is a thing call peripheral vision that none of the NPC seems to have...

+1 this lead to a lot of abuse in DivOS2.

I am here to discuss a video game. Please do not try to rope me into anything other than that. Thank you.

I understand some players enjoy being stealth in plain sight but I agree it shouldn't be a common thing for all chars. Maybe, some feats should be mandatory for that kind of advanced stealth.

I agree.

I also think stealth is easily explotable. You can attack an enemy and then in the very same turn just walk out of sight (the red surface when holding SHIFT) and go into stealth again. The enemy will just stand still - although being hitted. He does not look or wander around most of the time.

I think this a bug though, because some enemies that already were walking in your direction will continue walking and will then see you if you fail stealth.

But when an enemy didnt see you yet, and you attacked first out of the blue - he will not start to move.

I made a Thread and a Video about that.
