Had a quick glance; interesting. Reminds me of the "everything they teach about bows is wrong" video I saw some time ago. I think in the case of the back-scabbard there's less documentary evidence (though I am by no means an expert) and people tend to gravitate to whatever works.

In my case I can't really be trusted with swords. Mine are *very* overdue for some TLC as they're in danger of going rusty but if I pick one up I'll just drop it on my foot.

What is the problem you are solving? Does your proposed change solve the problem? Is your change feasible? What else will be affected by your change? Will your change impact revenue? Does your change align with the goals and strategies of the organizations (Larian, WotC)?
