I can't seem to find this posted yet, after searching, figured I'd ask, I just tried a persuasion check and rolled a 7, i needed a 6 to pass, and I'm told it failed. I just want to know if it's a bug or if i missed something. I have a screenshot but don't know how to add it.
I had the same problem (with the nature check to convince Khaga). I had it in reverse too. Once, I needed a 15, rolled a 16 and failed. The other time, needed a 13, rolled a 12 and passed.
From what I’ve been able to figure out, those happen when using Guidance cantrip that grants +d4 to skill rolls. Seems like the d4 is rolled once when displaying the target number, and another time for actually giving you a bonus. So the displayed number can be 1-3 points higher or lower than the actual Difficulty Class used.
You can see the difference already before rolling if you mouseover the target number.
