It just seems that without Dark Vision (Humans, Halflings and Githyanki) you are at a real disvantage.
In my human warlock character, I was able to see in the dark at one point. I think I might of had a necklace on or I got some type of blessing but I agree that it is a disadvantage to not be able to see your surrounding. I agree that it is a disadvantage as a human, I have to switch to Shadowheart or Astarion to see in the dark.
