Are you just saying "I want this character's specific stats while they are 15 hours into their own specific game?"

DOS/DOS2/BG3 are games I would plan to play with someone from beginning to end as the story evolves etc. As much as it is kin to DnD-- I really think they all drive inspiration from them, as far as BG3 being DnD it draws inspiration from the rule set of DnD--- But it is not and shouldn't be 1:1 to the tabletop game. Joining midsession with your own character that has already interacted with things in the world --- how would that work?

who cares if a legit character helps friends out with gear and leveling.

I think this would rely on what matters in the game and I don't think gear or levels is something I specifically care about in Tabletop games, DOS/DOS2/BG3-- it is the arbitrary thing in the game that helps facilitate me going through the world to do the actual thing I care about-- which is to experience the world as a story.

Another player joining the game that is overleveled making the game easier just seems pointless-- I'm not against it being in the game-- I think more options for people to play the game the way they want is nice-- but that *is* what mods are for. I think giving players a means to basically make the gameplay pointless-- which is almost what would be happening if some overleveled character could just drop into a game.

So that being said-- I don't think they should add it.

I feel without this feature this game isn't going to do as well as they hope.

I feel like that feeling is misplaced considering how well DOS2 had done.

Its a big deal. Out of the 20 people I know that are interested in this game, I am the only one that bought it. That's 19 people that are willing to buy, once we know this feature is installed.

This is super anecdotal and I don't think this supports your argument.
Because I have 45 friends that own DOS2 that never reflected your thoughts.
Out of my 45 friends-- it didn't stop them from playing DOS2 nor have I really heard anyone complain they couldn't import a character. The idea revolved around "Lets start a game of DOS2-- who wants to play. Most people were like "Ill play if we can skip fortjoy" Not "If we can add a mirror and cheat vendor so I can make the game easier." <--- which is basically what you want... What other reason would there be to bring in an over-leveled character to "help out" than to just make the game easier.

What would be a good idea-- is if there was a way in-game to change your race and class to what you would want if you joined someone's game mid-session.

IF there is a NG+ I think it would be pretty awesome to be able to have or meet up with

With limitations--- because... it's NG+ and shouldn't be easier.

Ok dude, Im glad you think this DnD game shouldnt be DND. I mean I understand why its called Baldurs Gate 3: Divinity Original Sin 3. Im not the only person bringing up this feature and its HUUUUGE complaint people have with DOS2. I read the forums there as well. There are countless cheat engines out there, so its not about cheating or making the game easier. Its about having fun and investing in your characters. If you like being a over glorified NPC, then you can put No custom Characters in your server options, just like BG1&2, DA:O and most every other game that allows this feature.
