Yes, the game currently doesn't appear to have anything like random encounters, but perhaps that would be a good way to introduce them into the game as well.
I'm a bit on the fence about the whole camping mechanics. It does break immersion some, and being able to "go to camp" from anywhere takes a bit getting used to, especially since you won't be interrupted no matter where you camp from. I'm used to having to find a "safe"(r) spot to take short rests and long rests else you may find yourself startled (and unprepared). Not saying the game has to (or should) have those mechanics in it, but as a long time D&D player, it is a bit unnerving. Seems like this would also diminish the need for tiny hut/rope trick as well.
