Is that link the actual rules on poisons? If so I don't see what the big deal is on the dip feature compared to poisons already placed in the d&d 5e rules. Along with spells causing area surfaces.

If anything the spells could be split from causing damage to targeting the ground making a surface.

Their is also this item (Basic poison)

Overall, from what I hear from my dnd players and people in general is that poisons are handled very poorly in 5e. Mostly due to to either being really strong or really weak, based on how much money you have, your level, and the dc being fixed as well as other factors.

I don't know how that relates to Diping, i haven't used it enough to compare.

As far as I seen, basic poison is 1d4 additional damage while dipping into a substance also does the same. It's additional effects added by larian that supposedly isn't d&d enough.

If I'm right and from the large amount of various herbs you can pick up, its possible those poisons haven't been released yet. An the currently dipping effects will seem subpar.

I didnt check it so far ... but i believe it depends on your enemy ...

For example tieflings have fire resistance ... so poison is stronger against them ...
Also if there is some enemy with poison resistance, it works otherwise.

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

This is true, hence why dipping should be more welcomed than a hindrance. Pretty sure Tieflings get 50% fire resist? I'm not on the computer so can't look up.
