Maybe im not reading items that well but is it just me or are there a great amount of cursed items in the game? Or if not cursed, just items that have some massive disadvantages tied to them.
The biggest item that stood out for me were the 'bracers of power' which has an ability that reads: 'Absolute's bane: Creatures hit by an attack may receive a D4 penalty to attack rols and saving throws.'
Except. Thats not what it does. Because every attack swing that you take with this....thing. Equipped also puts this penalty on the one wearing it. Sometimes just the wearer and not the one you attack. So it effectively penalizes you for wearing it. The description gave me the impression that theyre cursed items for anyone other then the main villains which is a very poor way tp handle loot.
Items have quirks when you use them or not just giving advantage is fine but them actively working against the player if he picks them up sounds very unfair.
I think theres a few weapons, a shield and whatnot that have a sort of simular flavour text but I havent bothered to equip them. I dont like to handicap myself even more but what are your impressions on these items?
