I am playing through again, and noticed that Volo tells you about her. thats one of the only hooks I really found that would naturally lead you there. Its just... AFTER you put up with his crap IF you put up with it, then he says something about a captured goblin chick. I felt like this was a pretty obscure hint but it's something. Perhaps at least one or two more references to her... like maybe if Kagha mentions she wants something done with the prisoner that the tieflings are holding... it would lead people there.
As far as Sazza being relatively low screen time, I havent really put much time in the Gobo path. I am doing that on this playthrough
