Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Updates not working - not enough space?

Hello there. I am hoping someone can assist me. I am on version 4.1.83.6620. I am not sure this is the latest version of the game. When I try to download an update I keep getting the message that "Update failed (E8) Not enough free disk space in C" Then the options to Retry or Uninstall.

I have 65 gigs of free space on the drive. Is this truly not enough for an update for the game? If it is enough space then what could be causing the error? Thanks in advance.

The most recent steam update (assuming you're on steam) for me allocated ~85GB worth of game space, downloaded the ~580MB update, copied over the entire 85GB+580MB worth of files from somewhere to somewhere else (rewriting every single game file I assume..?), and then deleted/unallocated the ~85GB space it allocated.

Try freeing up 25 more GB of space and see if it works. Alternatively, delete and then reinstall BG3 from scratch.
