So yeah, if you haven't read the title, it's this adorable trash goblin:

That's Sazza (the tiefling's goblin prisoner) if you don't remember and I absolutely love her. I couldn't 100% tell you why and I don't know that Larian intended her to be a likeable character but godsdamn, I just adore her. I fell in love with her on my first play-through and I honestly ship her with my MC more than any of the (so far) available love interests. I love her adorable trashiness, I love how genuinely sympathetic she is when Minthara wants to kill her, I just love how fuggin cute she is. So I was more than a little disappointed to discover that Sazza's story in early access just kind of... ends. While I haven't played through every possible scenario (yet) so far I've found that she doesn't really get an ending. If you save her and attack the grove with the goblins, she still isn't invited to the party. If you save her and then attack the goblins, you either have to fight her yourself or the goblins will kill her for you. And while I haven't played it myself, my understanding is that if you help the tieflings and don't free Sazza, they kill her anyway. And I dunno, for someone like me who really loves this character, that kinda sucks. (No shade to Larian intended here. Like I said, I can't imagine they intended anyone to like this character as much as I do and it's obviously their game and they're welcome to tell the story however they like.)

So yeah, I know it's a long shot and that even though we have a long way to go through early access it would still be a lot of work for Larian to implement the kind of changes I'm suggesting, I still wanna put this out here because one of my favorite things about D&D is the ability players have to shape the story as they play and I feel like early access gives me a chance to at least make my voice heard if nothing else. So here goes nothing lol. I'm presenting this ideas in order of how much work they would take to implement and in reverse order of how excited I'd be if they happened.

1. Let players warn Sazza before attacking the goblin leaders. The easiest way to save Sazza without requiring very much work (compared to my other suggestions) on the developer's part. Would let good players save Sazza without having to kill all the tieflings. For evil players, you could add a little scene with Sazza at the party to keep things equal.

2. Sazza as a camp follower. Yeah, I just want to have this adorable little gal hanging out in my camp and enjoy all the character interactions and shenanigans that ensue. Would be a whole lot more work but it would be delightful.

3. Sazza romance. Okay, I lied in that last point. All I really want is to romance this adorable little trash goblin. Like seriously, it would be soooo cuuuteee. No matter what form it takes I would 100% romance her given the opportunity. A secret romance scene at the party for evil players? I will make an evil character for the explicit purpose of romancing Sazza. Slowly learning about her character and falling in love over the course of the entire game in one of the cutest slow-burn romances of all time? I mean, do I even need to say I'm down for that or can we just leave it implied?

4. And finally, the longest of long shots: Sazza as a companion. Okay, so I know that this one is 99% impossible but, yeah... It would be amazing. And, while I'm fairly confident Larian has plans to add more companion characters to fill out the roster in the future, at the moment they are fairly short on martial characters and so making Sazza a barbarian or ranger and letting her join the crew would solve that problem smile

Anyway, I know all of this is unlikely to change anything and mostly I just wanted to get it off my chest. I know I was a little joking in the bullet points but I am 100% serious in how much I love this character and in my desire to see more of her in the game. If you made it this far, thanks for listening me to rant about a character I love for too many paragraphs. And if you work for Larian and you're reading this: I know it would be a lot of work and would probably make exactly one player happy, but if you were wondering what it would take for me to swear my undying fealty to you or make some ill-advised devil's bargain for my soul, well...

You have my price wink

Yeah, we need more Sazza content.

I want to see her getting eaten by spiders.
