I wont say where I encountered her because spoilers.

If you know who she is you likely know where.

So as the title says who is she?

I never met her on the first two playthroughs even though I have visted the location both times.

She tells exactly who she is.

Someone sent as an agent by Raphael to protect his "investment" on you.

More specifically, in technical terms, she's just a narrative device to put you out of a hopeless situation after you failed your two chances to pass a skill check.
I think it's one of these rare cases where Larian actually achieved their declared goal to "make failure more fun".

Or are you asking if she's supposed to be a pre-existing character in D&D lore?

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

Oh, nice find. Never encountered her after 3 playthoughs. This game is amazing. You still find some new stuff after a few runs.

Thanks. I didn't catch who she said sent her other than to make sure I'm ok.

And I totally agree. I was worried what was going to happen for a moment when the cinematic was playing.

She won't tell you depending what you already know and which dialogue options you take.

Cool, now I just have to figure out where/how you get trapped and to trigger this rescue!

I've seen those metal gates . . but can't remember where. I'll keep an eye out for them on my current playthrough

I encountered this today and got really confused for a minute, because she kind of looked like my dream lover lol.

It's in the goblin camp, details below.

If you talk to Priestess Gut and give some sketchy answers about the tadpole, she will knock you out and shackle you in her basement. If you fail both rolls to break free from the chains, this NPC appears and kills both Gut and her bodyguard, frees you and disappears.

Huh...
It is actually a better outcome than actually succeeding.
In my playthrough I got free and then had to fight my way out of the fort and kill gut and the giant lady by myself
