What settings are you playing on? My PC only lags when loading in objects but on Ultra that lag can lead to the game outright freezing until all the loading is done. Also, Vulkan crashes on startup for me.
Running on a custom blend of mostly Medium settings on a rig that's got hardware that's about 5 years old that wasn't exactly top-of-the-line when it was made.
