Beyond my pride, the fact remains it is an example where failing a dialogue roll is not fun with consequences : just a game over (unless you somehow defeat it with whoever is left, usually just Shadowheart).
I like having some game over 'fail states'. It forces me to think about my actions more, adds tension, and makes the overall gameplay more fun. At least for me. If you fail the roll and have to restart its a "Ooop I need to be careful moment" and if you make the roll you realize just how close you came to dying.
