I don't agree. You are roleplaying not "option selecting". You pick an option that you think fits with your character's personality. How the world reacts to it isn't in your hand.
Honestly this is what makes BG3 a great game, where there are choices, but not the "Blue for good, red for bad" style that Mass Effect gave you.
