that's where you are SOOOO wrong Soul, EVERY program needs testing and most definetely games

*mod* and ow yeah, I'd make it a 'public' test: the testers can DL the game or receive a CD (just a suggggestion) so that the game is tested on LOTS of different hardware combo's

the only problem with your idea is, that someone will copy it, and the beta version of the game will leak.
like what happened to unreal 2.
its safer to do an closesd beta.

I bet there won't be a public beta. It's like jvb said too unsecure today.

if they are smart (and they are) they will have an in door beta test.

And about the public beta: No way, that way the program will leak, and it would be harder for larian to get back their results, about sending the cd's .... Larian might have more resources now ... but I think that's too expensive/inefficient ...

I volunteer too... if it is as cool as DD it will be worth a couple months of my spare time. Allthough it will mean commuting between Oudenaarde and Luik... BTW, has DD leaked? I don't recall so...

Since I did a search and I didn't found any new threads on this subject ... I ask again: When does the beta start?

Just wondering, because a fall-release isn't so far away anymore, and still there is no news about betatesting (I could be wrong, but as I said, I haven't been able to follow Larian closely the last few months).

Honestly, I don't know. I don't even think they would make an "open betatest", because they haven't in the past.

I leave this up to the devs to say something about that.

Well, I was referring to the betatestsystem used for Div Div ... it was inhouse, but everyone who could get there was welcome (don't know if this is closed or open, a bit of both prolly).
