I made a post like this and saw a lot of agreement with people.
Nothing breaks up the entire flow of the game like talking to a non-factor flavor NPC and getting pulled into an intimate dialog scene so that they can say their one forgettable line.
Voice-accompanied text boxes are ok. Not everything needs a cinematic presentation.

I don't want to fall to bits 'cos of excess existential thought.
