Except Minsc i don't usually hang with them so I wanted to see their stories and such. Nalia is fine but usually dump her for imoen (and she always stays in Bhodi's dungeon lol)

Slayed the dragon and finished the Copper Coronet slavers quest as well. Then all my companions started bombarding me with side quests. What's the deal with that? I always remember the way companions interaction works in this game was bad, but is it possible that enhanced edition made it worse?

Enanched edition did some pretty questionable things imo (but it fixed some old bugs as well)

The best thing about enhanced edition is the option to play on my phone. There was an option to do it before (there was some community made emulator) but it wasn't as comfortable. Unfortunately it is really pain to mod it on phone. I did modded bg1 on my phone but I honestly think bg2 is good enough as is, and coming from a mod obsessed guy like me it is a very high praise.

About the rest of EE - I don't feel much difference. There are some nice UI improvements and I'm sure there are many small gameplay tweaks I'm too lame to notice. But overall its fine.

Maybe incompatibility with some other mods? I remember the quests being more spaced out, and I finished EE twice.

@OP I've replayed the 2.5 games so many times heh that I've lost count. Ascension is a great mod and adds a lot of cool stuff. Thinking will probably replay it again once I'm drained by the EA. I can't really play without mods such as dialogue expansions and unfinished business, the games feel more empty without them.

You can play bg2 on your PHONE??

I also don't mod. Didn't even know mods existed.

When replaying BG2 any pro tips for playing in multiplayer? I finished DOS2 and BG3 in multiplayer, he's up for BG2 but it seems unplayable in MP xD Is pause on end of turn my best bet?

Alt+ left click in the inventory on an item while the camp stash is opened transfers the item there. Make it a reality.

The Gibberling3, pocketplane, spellhold studios are a good place to start for mods. I wouldn't label most of these as mods, but more as amazing content/gameplay extensions the way they have evolved by now. Most are still being supported and worked on and have existed for over 10 years.

I'm really into mods, but as I said, on the phone it's just too much of a hassle. I'm not sure about iPhone, but on Android you can buy EE from the play store.

About companions interaction, it seems like every time you finish some big quest (and there are many of those in bg2) all the companions get triggered and start talking to me one after the other. As I said, no mods this time around so I don't think it's the problem

While BG1 and BG2 remain two of my favorite games, I'm wondering if there would be any point in replaying them for the purpose of gearing up for BG3. If I'm understanding BG3's setting correctly, it's not like anything that the player does in BG1 and/or BG2 will be relevant to BG3's setting. Its setting is closer tied to the novels?

I'm actually noticing a lot of stuff I missed. I didn't even realize Vioconia is a Shar girl. I thought it was just one of her curse words 🤣.

I also more into FR lore right now so I get much more references and shit. It's fun. I have to admit though, most of the side quests are really basic storywise but some of them has such a large scope it's amazing. There are some interesting stuff here and there, but the main strength of this game storywise is the main story.

Would those happen to be reputation comments? Or are they starting whole conversations? I'm playing classic (not EE) and I haven't noticed companions suddenly starting conversations after quests. But they do (quite annoyingly) often remind me how they feel about the current party reputation. It's triggered after each reputation change, I believe, as well as from time to time randomly.

I'm talking about conversations. They initiate conversations only after big quests and all at the same time. For example, after finishing Dearnease hold (troll fortress dunno how to spell it lol) just as I was exiting the fort itself I got a messenger regarding anoman's sister, a conversation with Vioconia, a conversation with Jehira and I think something with minsc..? Than later after the shade lord, again Vioconia anoman Nalia mazzy all one after the other. This time they took Nalia out of my party and Mazzy started to nag me about her sister and anoman about his trail. All of them at once

Wow, that's weird indeed. It looks like the game waited with the timers until you exit a dungeon? Most if not all of those are companion quests that progress after a certain number of days. Perhaps EE made it so the big quests aren't interrupted with time-sensitive companion quests and so they "accumulate". Idk, that's my guess anyway.

I don't remember this being an issue, and I replay the series every 2-3 years. Then again, I *do* always heavily mod it, so perhaps the timer changes in the Tweak and Banter mods work out favorably in that regard.

EDIT: Uncle Lester above is correct in assuming that timers can accumulate. Most conversation triggers (especially quest-related) can only be set off outside dungeons.

I wonder whether it is an issue unique to the mobile version of EE. Interactions were always kinda problematic in bg2, usually I used to have the opposite problem - not getting any interaction

That's possible. The usual problem you cite is specifically why I mod conversation timers. When you know the game, you typically play through it too fast to get all conversation options before reaching the end, especially with the romance content on Jaheira and Viconia.

Yep that's true. But it's fine as it is right now I'm just being a baby. It was only a real hassle at the time Isea took away Nalia and in the same time Mazzy and Anoman start naging me about their shit. But otherwise it's fine.

To a different matter, remember the first time Galen Bale told you you need 20000 gold to move forward in the game? Man in my first playthrough I felt like the game doesn't want me to preceed but now I'm like "20,000? Is that all?"

Bump bump

Can some lore guy explain the Solar in throne of Bhaal to me? First thing first, why the hell the solar helps me? I thought solars are good aligned creatures, so why help me to possibly resurrect a very evil god?
