it'll be weird listening to those while playing DD. wonder how riftrunner s'tracks would be like.
as for character creation, i hope for variety with obvious differences between character types/classes. what kind of possibilities can a divinity+demon combo have? let's see;
1. archon + minotaur-like demon = melee character bonus in strength
2. druid + demonic shapechanger(think of the clown in spawn) = stealth character bonus in charisma
3. elemental + warlock = range/magic bonus in intelligence
i can't think of more. any more speculations? let the imaginations run wild! btw, these are just 5 minutes worth of thoughts. very scant.

Oh boy/girl ! this thread is funny. Started with char-generation ... dealed with androgyn drows and lots of confusion concerning human beings ... and ended in a discussion about metal music ...
but now for something completely different (on topic):
The characters are 3D models. There will surely be a "pool" of different face-types, hair-models, clothing, etc. So it should be now problem to build up your individual char by combining these elements. Am I right or am I right, Marian (or Lar-ian or whoever)??

Sorry for reviving this topic but I have something on topic to say to about character creation . I know far too little about riftrunner, but because now there is a engine I guess this will be used with some improvements.
So I wonder if the type of character you choose to play has an effect on the skills you can use? I'll explain: In every way had 4 paths, and every way could use all the paths of the other ways. So the only reason for choosing a way was the special move and the 5 extra points in a certain ability. Wouldn't it be nice if a warrior had one path that only he could learn from? Let's use the weapon expertise path in as an example. That way the other ways could learn the other warrior paths, but there would still be a fair advantage for playing a warrior. Same for the wizard, maybe the elemental path could be exclusively for him, with the powerful meteor strike and such ... For the survivor the lockpicking,... path.
I'm just saying this because I'm playing again now, and I'm already considering which character I'm going to play next, but I don't look at what kind of character I'm going to play (which will be a mage like) but on the way the avatar in the game looks (because I want to play a female next time ) ...
If you understand what I mean ... what do you guys think about this?
And sorry if this is posted somewhere else, but at least I didn't start a new thread

The skill system in Riftrunner is being overhauled/replaced, and classes eliminated. You start with a character and build whatever you want with your choice of stats and skills. There may very well be high requirements for the most powerful skills of each type, though, making them practically unreachable for 'mixed class' characters.

Indeed as I understood it you don't select your character but you create it from scratch and make it to whatever you want.

make it to whatever you want. And whoever you want too! Fully customizable appearance. I remember how I was amazed by the fact you could set the skin and hair colour. But when I heard that Lar said you can play a child in I jumped from my chair!

Aah yes, sounds great. That would make ways and paths obsolete indeed . And I hope the way the character looks, is really customizable, like inmporting your own potraits (Baldur's Gate series). Personally I disliked most portraits in ... sorry Marian.

Can't you import portraits in ? Not that I dislike the portraits but I often pay with my own. I hope you can do that in

Character creation. Right. Yes. I want to be able to modify my stats and stuff. And maybe some nice new classes, which have more difference between each other than just 5 stat points.

May I indulge you upon PLEASE, FOR GOD'S SAKE, read the FAQ?
- You modify your stats anyway - No classes in

- You modify your stats anyway - No classes in That second point was not in the FAQ. And the first point is the exact reason WHY I suggested there should be more difference between classes than 5 stat points - because levelling made all classes identical eventually, anyway, in .

There are differences: Special move is unique plus (I can't find this post) a wizard gets more mana from intelligence, for example and there are damage differences. Search the forums and you'll find this post, it's by Raze. As for the classes: RPGDot: Is there the same selection again of Warrior, Wizard, Survivor? And if so do they have the same special move?
Lar: No. This time it’s totally generic. And contrary to Divinity 1, all characters can now sneak and execute whirlwind attacks. It’s not limited to specific classes anymore. It was mentioned in the interview.

I must agree that these differences where just not enough ... but don't be sad since there won't be any classes at al in

And by gay, I am in no way commenting on happiness or sexual orientation.

Although the Fallout system has a goofy name [S.P.E.C.I.A.L.]. I reinstalled Fallout: Tactics today and I restored my old savegames. Will play tomorrow.
