Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) General a theory, Riftrunner exposed?

I was amased whan i saw the announcement today!.
if was thinking why The Larians would choose for a name as Riftrunner (R3).

then i saw on the official R3 site a picture of a deadknight and the hero with a staff?

and this is my theory:
Like the name sais it's riftruner.
i think this game you have to cross in differend timelines.
look at the clothing of our hero.
he has a t-shirt with a lightning symbol on it.
that's soemthing from our time!
so i thingk the "rift" is a gate in time running back and forward.

that would be interesting...

Because Larian are calling it RRR so R3 is the slightly shorter name for it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

it had to do with the verry FIRST anouncement of this game by Lar.
he only said "RRR" remember?
and thats was (i think)for th e 3 r's in RiftRunneR

I'd just call it RR. RRR has no real foundation and looks slightly stupid. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> Apart from that, as we've painfully learned in the past, overzealous redundancy can lead to "misunderstandings" and "accidents".

I do hope it is not set all the time in our time... i like the medieval fantasy kinda thing...

The drawing is a little bit to clean here. Its not a T-shirt, actually a ragged tunic with the symbol of the divine. Remember he/she was sacrificed with lightning bolts. The triangles beside the lightning stand for praying/worshipping hands which means alltogether something like the cult/order/church of the divine.

but the shirt really looks a bit mordern.

Well, this time i think you went by the matter a little too prematurely, beloved kitten!
Of course it´s `stupid´ - who would really count the middle "r" in "Riftrunner" for the game´s short name (`RRR´)? - but on purpose!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
I read it as an ongoing and appopriately unsubtle way of making fun of the DivDiv title imposed on us by an incapable publisher and all the `evil´ it did to the game and the fans!

It's just a drawing. Believe me it looks very different on the Heros. Even the style is slightly different...
