About companions interaction, it seems like every time you finish some big quest (and there are many of those in bg2) all the companions get triggered and start talking to me one after the other. As I said, no mods this time around so I don't think it's the problem
Would those happen to be reputation comments? Or are they starting whole conversations? I'm playing classic (not EE) and I haven't noticed companions suddenly starting conversations after quests. But they do (quite annoyingly) often remind me how they feel about the current party reputation. It's triggered after each reputation change, I believe, as well as from time to time randomly.
I'm talking about conversations. They initiate conversations only after big quests and all at the same time. For example, after finishing Dearnease hold (troll fortress dunno how to spell it lol) just as I was exiting the fort itself I got a messenger regarding anoman's sister, a conversation with Vioconia, a conversation with Jehira and I think something with minsc..? Than later after the shade lord, again Vioconia anoman Nalia mazzy all one after the other. This time they took Nalia out of my party and Mazzy started to nag me about her sister and anoman about his trail. All of them at once
I don't remember this being an issue, and I replay the series every 2-3 years. Then again, I *do* always heavily mod it, so perhaps the timer changes in the Tweak and Banter mods work out favorably in that regard.
EDIT: Uncle Lester above is correct in assuming that timers can accumulate. Most conversation triggers (especially quest-related) can only be set off outside dungeons.
