I ran into this problem twice when shadowheart is talking to me about not taking anything from the chest the rolls I have to do with persuasion and insight are glitched and wont let me roll being stuck on the screen saying click to roll. Luckily the game autosaved at the cave entrance, but I was unable to exit the convo or anything had to exit the game completely. This was also on stadia, unsure if stadia and steam are all on par with updates and such.
I had the same issue but was on a PC after the Oct 23rd update, i think the update broke it, so i guess 1 step forward, two steps back. lol I just wish i knew what is in the chest to fulfill my curiosity.
